That's why we offer a range of services that are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. Our team includes licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals who specialize in working with individuals with autism.

Our services include:

Autism diagnostic testing: Our team offers testing services that aid in the diagnosis of autism. Some of the assessments used (based on age) include:

  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition (ADOS-2)

    • The ADOS-2 is a semi-structured standardized observational play-based assessment that is used to evaluate individuals in the following core symptomatic areas of autism: language and communication, reciprocal social interaction, play/creativity, and stereotypical behaviors and restricted interests. Of these areas, social affect and restricted repetitive behaviors are used in an algorithm to compare the examinee to autism spectrum cutoff scores and thus, classify individuals as likely having or not having autism or an autism spectrum disorder. A comparison score is also derived that serves as an indication of an individual’s autism spectrum-related symptoms. The ADOS-2 has various modules, of which one is primarily chosen to correspond to the level of expressive language skills/abilities of the individual being evaluated, although chronological age and interests are also taken into consideration.

  • Kufman Brief Intelligence Test (KBIT); the KBIT is a brief measure of verbal and nonverbal intelligence used with individuals ages 4-90 years.

  • Social Responsiveness Scale-Second Edition SRS-s is an objective measure of symptoms associated with autism.

  • State-trait inventory for Adults; the State Trait Adult Inventory is the gold standard for measuring preoperative anxiety.

  • Adult/Adolescent/Child Sensory Profile helps measure sensory processing patterns and effects on functional performance.

  • Toronto Alexithymia Scale measures difficulty in identifying and describing emotions, which represents a significant component of interpersonal challenges in autism.

  • Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire (CATQ); CATQ measures masking behaviors that may impede diagnosis of ASD.

  • Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale-revised (RAADS); RAADS measures subclinical behaviors that make it difficult to diagnose autism.

  • Autism diagnostic evaluations: Our team can provide comprehensive evaluations to assess for autism spectrum disorder. This can include a review of medical history, developmental milestones, and standardized assessments to help determine a diagnosis.

  • Medication management: Our team of psychiatric nurse practitioners can provide medication management for individuals with autism who may be experiencing co-occurring mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety.

At our practice, we believe in providing compassionate care that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual. If you or a loved one is seeking psychiatric services for autism testing, please contact us to learn more about our services and how we can help.
